From the Horse’s Mouth
Located 600 acres 100 miles Northwest of Atlanta, Valley View Equestrian Camp is run by third generation horse lovers with a passion for equestrian sports. 2015 will be Valley View’s 61st summer!
Enrollment is limited to 50 girls and is open to ages 8-17. Girls may bring their own horse or ride one of the horse’s at Valley View Camp.
Over eighty percent of Valley View Ranch’s Staff members are young women who have grown up attending Valley View in the summers. They return to pass their love and interest in our program on to the next generation.
Hunt Seat Equitation is taught in a separate Hunt Ring and barn, and specially schooled horses are available to all girls, beginner to advanced. Girls are paired in groups based on their riding ability. As a rider gains confidence, she will practice equitation over fences in the ring and out in the field.
The Pony Club is Valley View Equestrian Camp’s program for younger campers. Girls get the responsibility of having their own horse at their own barn. Beginner to advanced riders learn to halter, groom, bridle and saddle, ride and responsibly cool out their mount. Lessons, gymkhana, and trail rides are planned and supervised by our experienced professional Certified Horsemanship staff. Individualized programs are essential for the younger camper’s varied attention spans, interests, and safety.
Vaulters learn to perform gymnastic maneuvers on horseback–– a great confidence builder. Practice begins on the vaulting barrel where campers learn basic seat, mount and dismount, and several stunts. More advanced moves are the kneel, stand, the flag, arabesque, the prince and doubles.
